John & Julie are originally from the UK but made Wanaka their home in 1998. Our family includes daughter Lucy and cat Noosa. We all love meeting guests and provide a relaxed, friendly stay. John is a local tour guide, keen tramper and a Lord of The Rings location expert. He is always happy to share favourite walks, scenic spots & Wanaka activities.
The Hayloft really was built from straw (which came from our neighbouring paddock). However unlike the straw house in the three little pigs, we can assure you there is no chance of it blowing over! Strawbale construction creates amazing solid character with thick uneven walls and a low carbon footprint.
